HP will enter 3D market in mid-2014; Meg Whitman says 3D printing will hit its inflection point in 2016.

Meg Whitman recently made some strong statements about 3D printing for HP (link is external) in Bangkok. I dunno about you, but when Meg Whitman swings her lady-business around, I take it seriously (link is external).

Whitman expects 3D printing to reach its inflection point in three years.

 

Also, HP Labs has a project called RAGNAROK (Research on Advancing Glass & Non-organic Applications to Recreate Objects & Kinetics)!!!!! You can read an interesting abstract on the project's work on 3d-printing transparent glass here (link is external).
